In response to discrepancies in compliance with DepEd Order No. 20 s. 2023, the Department of Education (DepEd) issues a statement addressing the acceptance of Grade 11 learners by some State Universities and Colleges (SUC) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUC) for the ongoing school year.

Contrary to the earlier directive restricting Grade 11 voucher beneficiaries in SUCs and LUCs for SY 2023-2024, records reveal non-compliance by certain institutions.

To prevent learner displacement, DepEd announces the extension of the Senior High School Voucher Program (SHSVP) to Grade 11 learners currently enrolled in SUCs and LUCs. This extension will allow them to continue as voucher beneficiaries for their Grade 12 studies in SY 2024-2025.

DepEd will formalize this arrangement through a Memorandum of Agreement with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). However, a stern reminder is issued to SUCs and LUCs that, starting SY 2024-2025, SHSVP will no longer be extended to Grade 11 learners in their institutions.

Acceptance of new Senior High School learners should align with their charters and be funded from their respective resources.
