The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has stepped up to provide assistance to 20 Filipinas recently rescued from an infant-trafficking syndicate in Cambodia. According to DFA Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega, 13 of these women are currently pregnant and are receiving necessary personal and prenatal care. The remaining seven, meanwhile, are set to be repatriated back to the Philippines soon.

The DFA’s immediate action and support underscore their commitment to the welfare of Filipinos abroad, especially those who fall victim to trafficking schemes. The agency is working closely with local authorities and organizations to ensure that the victims’ needs are met as they prepare to return home and rebuild their lives.
