Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo made it clear during today's Senate investigation that running for public office again is not on her agenda—at least not anytime soon.

When Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada directly asked her if she had any plans to run for reelection, Guo didn't hesitate. "Sa ngayon, hindi po," she answered, explaining that she wants to deal with the issues surrounding her dismissal first.

"Haharapin ko muna 'yung mga accusations sa akin. Linisin ko po muna sarili ko. Para maging fair din po sa aking constituents," Guo added, emphasizing that her priority is to clear her name and not add any more political tension to her town.

Guo’s decision not to run for reelection is a surprising one, considering that many dismissed or suspended officials in the past have often staged comebacks.

But for now, it seems that Bamban's former mayor is choosing the path of self-cleansing over the political limelight.
