The De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spiker community was met with news of concern as key player Angel Canino sustained an arm injury, rendering her unavailable for several matches in Round 2 of the volleyball season.

While initially reported as a volleyball-related injury, it has been clarified by Canino's mother, Sol Canino, that the injury stemmed from personal reasons unrelated to the sport.

In a statement addressing circulating misinformation, Sol Canino emphasized that her daughter's injury had nothing to do with volleyball, refuting speculations ranging from professional aspirations to personal matters like pregnancy or academic struggles. "She'll bounce back. She's not going anywhere, she's not going Pro (pls stop dragging Akari). She's not pregnant (pls stop dragging anyone). She doesn't have acads problems and definitely she's not faking this. She's hurt and she will recover," Sol Canino asserted.

Sol Canino urged for responsible social media behavior, highlighting the potential harm caused by unfounded rumors and speculative comments. "As a mom, I pray that we must be responsible for what we post and comment because somewhere along the way there are people who get hurt. I still believe in kindness so please just please be kind," she emphasized.
