The Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr. has voiced apprehension following reports of an alleged phone dialogue between Western Command (WESCOM) Commander Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos and a Chinese diplomat.

The conversation purportedly centered around a "new model" for resupply missions to troops stationed on the BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal.

Teodoro underscored that if the purported conversation indeed transpired and was disseminated by an official from the Chinese Embassy, it would constitute a violation of the country's Anti-Wiretapping Law.

In response to the situation, Teodoro has entrusted the investigation to the Department of Foreign Affairs, stressing that appropriate actions, including expulsion from the country, should be taken if the claims are substantiated.
