The Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced charges against the consignee involved in the seizure of over 31 kilograms of shabu worth PHP218,484,000 in Pasay City.

Following inquest proceedings, Christine Tigranes of Balingasa, Manila, was identified as the respondent, with authorities tracing the illegal contraband back to a claimant named Isaac Chikore from Zimbabwe.

Disguised as machinery mufflers, the drugs were intercepted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, prompting a thorough inspection and Tigranes' subsequent arrest. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confirmed the substance as methamphetamine hydrochloride.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Boying Remulla emphasized the government's relentless campaign against illegal drugs, signaling a stern warning to those involved. Tigranes faces charges under Republic Act No. 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Act) and Republic Act No. 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act).
