The Department of Justice (DOJ) has taken action against expelled Congressman Arnulfo A. Teves, Jr., issuing two Alertlist Orders through the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

Teves is accused of being the mastermind behind the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Boying Remulla emphasized that the Alertlist Orders aim to restrict Teves' movements and facilitate his arrest through international cooperation.

These orders were issued in accordance with a court warrant dated September 5, 2023, and an Interpol Blue Notice published on February 19, 2024.

Secretary Remulla reassured the public, stating, "The DOJ assures that all individuals are held accountable for their actions, regardless of their position or influence."

BI officers are now directed to promptly report any information about Teves' entry, exit, or attempted movements to the Philippine National Police (PNP) or the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Additionally, they are instructed to refer Teves to the PNP or NBI whenever encountered at any port of entry.

The Justice Secretary underlined that these measures underscore the DOJ's commitment to international cooperation with law enforcement agencies.

He stated firmly, "Teves cannot escape the long arm of the law," emphasizing the determination to ensure legal consequences for Teves' alleged actions.
