DOJ Leads Inspection Of Massive Drug Seizure In Catanduanes

Department of Justice (DOJ) Assistant Secretary (Asec) Eliseo DC. Cruz spearheaded an inspection of a significant drug haul in Brgy. Palta Small, Virac, Catanduanes, marking one of the largest seizures in the country's history.

The ocular inspection, authorized by the Makati City Regional Trial Court, aimed to assess the scale of the confiscated drugs, including 22.509 kg of shabu, 200 ml of liquid shabu, and 359.75 kg of Ephedrine, along with drug manufacturing equipment.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Boying Remulla emphasized the importance of eradicating illegal drugs to maintain peace and order, commending the efforts of the prosecution panel involved in the case.

Joined by officials from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local law enforcement, Asec Cruz reiterated the commitment to uphold the rule of law and protect communities from the dangers of narcotics.
