DOTr Postpones Fines For Expressway Violations Until 2025: Here's What You Need To Know
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has decided to push back the implementation of fines for certain expressway violations to 2025. So, if you haven't gotten around to properly installing or loading your RFID tags, you’ve got some extra time.

Originally, fines were set to start under the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2024-001. However, the DOTr has postponed this to make sure the new rules align with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s goal to address the growing traffic issues in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

This delay gives motorists in NCR and neighboring areas more breathing room to comply with the rules, especially regarding the installation and correct use of RFIDs. The aim is to avoid adding more headaches to our already frustrating traffic situation.

So, take this as your chance to sort out your RFID concerns without the stress of immediate fines. Just be ready by 2025.
