DSWD Clarifies Eligibility For Expanded Cash Grants Under 4Ps Program
FILE
In a recent statement, the national program manager of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) clarified that only existing active household beneficiaries who are pregnant and nursing mothers with 0-2 year-old children will receive expanded cash grants. This clarification aims to address confusion as many have sought to enlist, emphasizing that beneficiaries must already be part of the 4Ps program.

Director Gemma Gabuya highlighted that the expanded grants target enrolled beneficiaries to support the 1st 1000 Days program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Coordination with the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) is ongoing to determine the exact number of beneficiaries and budget required.

Gabuya further explained that the grants are additional to existing health benefits received by 4Ps households, emphasizing the program's focus on education, nutrition, and health of monitored children.

The 4Ps initiative, established under Republic Act No. 11310, aims to uplift indigent families by investing in human capital to break the cycle of poverty.
