Duterte Almost Hurls Mic At Trillanes; Proposes Public Smackdown
Screengrab from Congress PH
In a fiery exchange that’s making waves, former President Rodrigo Duterte took things up a notch, nearly throwing a microphone at former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV after being challenged to sign a bank waiver.

It all started when Trillanes called out Duterte, urging him to open up his bank accounts to public scrutiny. The former senator has long questioned Duterte’s finances, hinting at supposed hidden wealth. When the committee asked Duterte if he’d sign the waiver, he retorted with his own “offer.”

"Ano’ng kapalit, sir?" Duterte shot back. "Sampalin ko siya sa publiko?" (In exchange for what? I’ll slap his face in public.)

While it didn’t escalate to actual mic-hurling, Duterte’s challenge stirred quite a reaction. His response taps into years of verbal sparring between the two, with Trillanes a persistent critic during Duterte’s presidency.

For now, it’s unclear if Trillanes will respond to Duterte’s “terms,” but this latest jab shows their longstanding rivalry is far from over.
