As the new school year kicks off, the Philippines is buzzing with back-to-school energy!

According to the latest data, as of July 29, 2024, 7:30 AM, a whopping 19,870,531 students have registered for the school year 2024-2025. This shows a strong enthusiasm for education across the country.

Region IV-A leads the pack with 2,811,458 enrolled students, followed closely by Region III with 2,216,637, and the National Capital Region (NCR) with 2,185,237. It’s clear that students and parents are gearing up for another academic year with great anticipation.

However, not everything is back-to-normal just yet. Due to the recent impacts of Typhoon Carina, several schools have had to delay their opening. As of July 28, 2024, at 9:30 PM, the following regions have announced postponements:

- NCR: 225 schools
- Region I: 95 schools
- Region III: 452 schools
- Region IV-A: 66 schools
- Region XII: 4 schools

In total, 842 schools across these regions will be postponing their classes due to the typhoon's aftermath.

So, while the new school year is off to a bustling start, some areas are still recovering and adjusting their schedules. Stay tuned for further updates and make sure to check with local schools for the latest information on class schedules.
