Enteng has intensified and is now a Severe Tropical Storm Packing a punch with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h and gusts reaching up to 115 km/h. It’s currently located about 165 km west-northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, and is moving west-northwest at 10 km/h.

What’s Happening?

Wind Alerts
The tropical cyclone wind signals (TCWS) are in effect for several areas in Luzon. Wind Signal No. 1 is up for Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, parts of La Union, and Abra, among others. Expect strong winds ranging from 39 to 61 km/h, with minimal to minor threats to life and property.

Rainfall Warnings
Enteng is set to bring 50-100 mm of rain to the Ilocos Region and Abra from now until tomorrow afternoon. This could lead to flooding and landslides, especially in areas prone to such hazards.

Coastal Warnings
Gale warnings are in place for the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon, so if you’re planning to head out to sea, be cautious. Moderate to rough seas are expected elsewhere, and mariners should avoid venturing out if they’re in small or poorly equipped vessels.

What’s Next?

Enteng is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by tomorrow morning and will continue its westward journey towards southern mainland China. It may even reach typhoon status by Thursday, intensifying further before making landfall in China over the weekend.

Stay Safe!

It’s essential to stay informed and follow local advisories. If you live in areas susceptible to flooding or landslides, make sure to follow evacuation orders and take necessary precautions to protect yourself and your property.
