Erano Timbang Steps Up As Acting Mayor Of Bamban, Tarlac After Surprise Dismissals

Bamban, Tarlac finds itself with a new acting mayor.
On Wednesday afternoon, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos swore in Municipal Councilor Erano Timbang as the town’s acting mayor during a ceremony held at Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Timbang is stepping in after the Office of the Ombudsman ordered the dismissal of former Mayor Alice Guo. But the changes didn’t stop there—Vice Mayor Leonardo Anunciacion, who would typically be next in line, was also suspended for three months. Anunciacion, along with 11 other town officials, was found guilty of conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, leaving Timbang to take the helm.
With Bamban’s leadership facing such a sudden shake-up, all eyes are on Timbang as he navigates this unexpected new role.
