"Even if you try to mislead this committee, the truth will eventually come out," he warned Guo. Meanwhile, Sen. Risa Hontiveros took a different approach, grilling Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Liseldo Calugay over his suspected links to Guo. Hontiveros zeroed in on the nature of their relationship, specifically focusing on possible criminal ties. Not one to beat around the bush, Hontiveros asked if Calugay was involved in helping Guo cover her tracks, citing several business endorsements and questionable legal coordination between their offices.
“I don’t care if you have a romantic relationship with her," Hontiveros said, cutting through the noise. "We’re here to uncover your possible criminal relationship."
But the questioning didn’t stop there. Sen. Joel Villanueva also took Calugay to task, pushing for clarity on his relationship with Guo. Villanueva, in his signature straightforward style, asked if Calugay and Guo were "lovers in POGO." He pointed to several pieces of evidence—matching t-shirts, close photos—that suggested a deeper connection between the two.
Calugay, however, was quick to deny any romantic or business relationship with Guo, attempting to deflect attention from the accusations.
