The incident, attributed by FAMAS to live broadcast challenges and a bustling atmosphere that hindered their ability to locate Darren in time, has stirred a significant reaction from her family and fans.

In a heartfelt message shared on Facebook, Dr. Fernando de la Pena, one of Darren's sons, expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support from the public. He emphasized the emotional impact the incident had on their family, particularly on Darren's grandchildren who attended the event with hopes of seeing their grandmother on stage.

"My Dear Facebook Family… we truly appreciate the overwhelming display of love and support. Once again the people have spoken and proved that the keyboard is mightier than the sword," de la Pena wrote, acknowledging the efforts of friends and supporters who helped spread the word about the incident.

He shared insights into their family background, illustrating the deep respect they hold for FAMAS and what it represents. Reflecting on his childhood, de la Pena recounted his responsibility to keep his mother's 1969 FAMAS trophy dust-free and polished, a testament to their reverence for the institution.

"This is why what happened to my mother, in the eyes of our family, was incomprehensible, unexpected, unimaginable," he stated. Despite the disappointment, particularly for Darren's grandchildren, de la Pena expressed understanding and absolved actor Tirso Cruz III and FAMAS PR Officer Renz Spangler of any blame, acknowledging them as victims of the situation as well.

Highlighting their acceptance of the apology, de la Pena conveyed, "For the reasons I stated above and on behalf of my mother, Ms. Eva Darren, our family accepts the olive branch that FAMAS has extended and only hope that future events would prove to be contrasting."
