Farewell To A Legend: Mother Lily Monteverde Passes Away At 85

The Philippine entertainment industry mourns the loss of a true icon, as beloved Regal Films producer, Mother Lily Monteverde, has passed away at the age of 85.
Her death comes just days after the passing of her husband, adding to the sorrow felt by many.
In a heartfelt post, acclaimed director Erik Matti shared the devastating news: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend, our producer and our mother, Mother Lily Monteverde. Her legacy and pioneering achievement in Philippine cinema could never be forgotten."
Mother Lily's influence on the film industry is immeasurable. Her contributions shaped the careers of countless actors, directors, and writers.
Erik Matti continued, "To everyone whose lives and careers were touched by our iconic, larger-than-life Mother Lily, please give your last respects and join the Monteverde family in celebrating all the fun memories we all shared with Mother. Rest in peace. I love you Mother. 馃挄鉂わ笍"
Film Development Council of the Philippines Chairman Joey Reyes also expressed his condolences, capturing the sentiment of many: "So many of us lost our 'Mother' today. Her family grieves. An industry mourns. Goodbye, Mother Lily. You gave so much to us ... and we only have our love to bring you home to our Father."
To honor Mother Lily's memory, a wake and memorial service will be held at 38 Valencia Events Place in Quezon City. The schedule is as follows:
- August 5, 3:30 PM to 12 Midnight
- August 6 to August 9, 10 AM to 12 Midnight
