Faster Travel For Modern-Day Heroes: NAIA Opens Special Immigration Wing Just For OFWs
Here’s some good news for our hardworking kababayans abroad: the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has just opened a dedicated Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) wing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. This new space aims to make immigration processing quicker and smoother for OFWs—especially during the hectic travel rush.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado shared that this move is in line with President Bongbong Marcos Jr.’s push to improve services for OFWs, who continue to be a vital force in keeping the Philippine economy running strong.

“We know the sacrifices of our OFWs, and this is one way we can show our appreciation,” Viado said. “They deserve faster, more convenient service as they leave to work abroad.”

The new OFW wing isn’t just for show—it comes with six additional counters and 12 immigration officers, all ready to ease the flow of passengers. That’s especially helpful now, with the long holidays causing a spike in airport activity. The added space will help cut down waiting times, not just for OFWs but also for regular tourists lining up at the standard counters.

Viado expressed gratitude to airport authorities, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC) for making the expansion happen. He noted that NAIA sees more than 3,400 OFWs depart daily—making it high time for dedicated immigration lanes just for them.

“This is only the beginning,” Viado added. “We’re committed to modernizing our systems and making sure our kababayans get the VIP treatment they deserve—because they truly are our modern-day heroes.”

So the next time you’re at NAIA Terminal 3, don’t be surprised to see smoother lines and happier travelers—especially those heading out to support their families and represent the Filipino workforce across the globe.
