In a tragic incident on 22nd January, Sergeant First Class (Reserves) Cydrick Garin, of Filipino descent, lost his life among the 21 IDF soldiers killed during a massive explosion in Gaza. The Philippine Embassy expressed deep sorrow upon learning of Sgt. Garin's demise and extends heartfelt condolences to his grieving family.

Sgt. Garin's roots trace back to the Philippines, being the son of two Filipino parents. His mother, originally from Isabela Province, resides in Tel Aviv, while his father, a native of General Santos City, is now making preparations to travel to Israel to be with the family during this challenging time.

The Embassy, along with the Filipino Community in Israel, stands in solidarity with the Garin family, sharing in their grief and offering prayers for strength, peace, and comfort for all those deeply affected by Sgt. Garin's untimely passing. As the nation mourns the loss of one of its own, the Embassy pledges support to the family and the broader community during this difficult period.
