Alice Guo, the dismissed mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, is finally in custody. Indonesian authorities apprehended Guo in Tangerang City, Jakarta, just past midnight on September 4. The news was confirmed by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC).

Senator Win Gatchalian also announced this development in a Facebook post, announcing, "Nahuli na si Guo Hua Ping aka Alice Guo sa Tangerang City, Jakarta, Indonesia. Mananagot ang dapat managot!" It’s clear that the senator is ready for justice to take its course.

Senator Risa Hontiveros also weighed in, sharing her own confirmation via social media: "Kumpirmado — arestado na si Alice Guo. I have independently confirmed this with my Indonesian sources as well. Ako po ay nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng gumawa ng paraan para siya maaresto. Terima Kasih to our friends in Indonesia."

Hontiveros expressed her eagerness to see Guo at the Senate hearings as soon as possible. She also hinted at further consequences for those who may have helped Guo in her escape, stating firmly, "At kung sino man ang tumulong sa kanyang pag takas, di namin kayo tatantanan."

With Guo now in custody, all eyes are on what happens next—especially how this high-profile case will unfold in the Senate. One thing’s for sure: those involved won’t be escaping the long arm of the law anytime soon.
