The Balayan Municipal Police Station in Batangas now has custody of a former police officer and his driver, both accused of being behind the mysterious disappearance of beauty pageant contestant and teacher Catherine Camilon.

According to a report from Balayan PNP, Police Major Allan de Castro and his driver, Jeffrey Magpantay, were arrested in Barangay Caloocan, Batangas.

The Batangas Regional Trial Court Branch 3 ordered their arrest on charges of kidnapping and serious illegal detention.

The family of the missing pagent contestant had previously identified De Castro, who was reportedly Catherine’s boyfriend, as the last person seen with her in Lemery, Batangas on October 12 of last year.

De Castro was dismissed from the service back in January because of moral conduct issues after it was revealed that he had an affair with Camilon, despite being married.

The case against De Castro and Magpantay was officially elevated to court after sufficient evidence was gathered by the police, overturning the initial dismissal of the case by the Batangas Regional Prosecutors Office.
