Former President Rodrigo Duterte visited the families of Typhoon Kristine’s victims on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, personally offering condolences and support to those affected by last week’s tragic landslide in Barangay Sampaloc, Talisay, Batangas. The devastating landslide, triggered by the powerful typhoon on October 24, took several lives and left a deep impact on the community.

Accompanying him was a team from the Office of the Vice President’s Special Projects and Public Assistance Divisions, who arrived with essential burial assistance for grieving families. Duterte, well-known for his hands-on approach, spent time with the families, sharing in their sorrow and lending a listening ear.

The former president also participated in relief operations alongside the Office of the Vice President’s Disaster Operation Center. Together, they visited evacuation centers across Talisay and Laurel in Batangas, bringing vital supplies and assistance to evacuees who had to leave their homes behind. Duterte’s presence not only provided tangible support but also comforted those struggling through this challenging time.

For many in Batangas, Duterte’s visit was a reminder that they are not alone, with support flowing in from both the national and local levels.
