In a significant breakthrough, four police officers allegedly involved in the abduction of four foreign nationals in Pasay City have been apprehended, including a Major, stated Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos, Jr.

The incident, which took place at around 12:20 AM on June 2, 2024, saw four foreign nationals in a Lexus vehicle being flagged down by motorcycle cops along Taft Avenue in Pasay.

These officers were followed by a white van. Subsequently, the Lexus was intercepted by the motorcycle, and the occupants were forcibly taken by individuals associated with the van.

Two of the victims managed to escape and sought assistance from barangay officials, while the remaining captives were released around 6:00 AM on June 3 after a ransom of 2.5 million pesos was paid.

Upon learning of the incident, General Nartatez and his team from the NCRPO and SPD, in coordination with the AAG, promptly launched an investigation.

The apprehended suspects, including Sgt. Angelito David, Sgt. Ralph Tumanguil, Sgt. Ricky Tabora, and Maj. Christel Carlo A Villanueva, face charges of kidnapping with ransom, robbery, and carnapping.

However, other individuals involved, such as Mario Quiambao Dando and Roderick Balbuena, remain at large, prompting authorities to urge the public for any information leading to their arrest.

Abalos, emphasized the substantial evidence collected, including the two motorcycles used in the abduction, PNP-issued firearms, cellphones, documentary evidence, and CCTV footage, along with witness testimonies.

Complaints against the arrested suspects have been filed through an inquest at the Pasay City Prosecutors Office on June 3, 2024.
