'Golden Boy' Carlos Yulo Surprises Young Gymnast On 'Eat Bulaga'

It's not every day that you get to meet your idol, let alone be surprised by them on national television! That’s exactly what happened on Thursday, August 15, when our very own "Golden Boy," Carlos Yulo, dropped by the TV5 Media Center to appear on the set of "Eat Bulaga." Fresh from Paris, the two-time Olympic gold medalist made a special visit that left everyone in the studio—and especially one young gymnast—beaming with inspiration.

Carlos Yulo, who’s become a household name thanks to his incredible feats in gymnastics, surprised 11-year-old Jezzy James, a young gymnast and "Dear Eat Bulaga" letter sender. Jezzy's excitement quickly turned to tears when Caloy, as Yulo is affectionately called, stepped out to meet him. It was a heartwarming moment that highlighted the impact of Yulo’s achievements on aspiring athletes across the country.

But the surprises didn’t stop there. In true "Eat Bulaga" fashion, Allan K. couldn’t help but ask Caloy if he had brought anything lucky with him. With a shy smile, Yulo pulled out a simple plastic container—his "pampaswerte" chalk box. “Sarili mo yan? ’Pag lumalaban ka, dala mo yung sarili mo? Hindi mo ginagamit yung chalk box nila?” Tito Sen asked, visibly amused. Carlos simply replied, "Hindi po. May dala po akong sarili."

The moment was both touching and funny, especially when Allan K. quipped, “Nakakatuwa nga Tito Sen eh, yung iba, ang sososyal pa… Tapos yung kay Caloy, ganyan oh, tupperware. Nakakatuwa.”

During his visit, Carlos shared a few words of encouragement with Jezzy and all the young athletes watching.
