In a major move to promote responsible media consumption, several key Philippine government agencies have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the launch of an educational infomercial series titled "Responsableng Panonood Tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas" (Responsible Viewing for a New Philippines). This initiative is aimed at empowering Filipino families to make mindful viewing choices and to guide young viewers toward age-appropriate content.

The MOA signing took place today, November 12, at Malacañang Palace, led by the heads of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), Office of the Executive Secretary (OES), and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA). Present at the event were MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio, PCO Acting Secretary Dr. Cesar B. Chavez, OES Assistant Secretary Jomar Canlas, and PIA Director-General Ms. Kath De Castro.

The initiative’s main focus is to roll out a series of infomercials across various media channels, aiming to raise awareness among families on how to select appropriate content for all ages, with a special focus on guiding young viewers. In addition to encouraging responsible viewership, the campaign also supports the Philippine creative industry, with hopes that it will contribute to the growth of local film and media production—a vital part of the country’s economic development.

The collaborative effort is optimistic about its impact, envisioning a well-informed and responsible Filipino audience that not only enjoys quality entertainment but also uplifts local media productions.
