In response to numerous circulating posts about Island Cove, Governor Jonvic Remulla has issued a statement to clarify the situation and address ongoing rumors and allegations.

Governor Remulla provided the following details about the history and ownership of Island Cove:

The island located in Kawit, Cavite, was purchased by his late father, Atty. Johnny Remulla, in 1970.

It was opened as Covelandia in 1976.

The resort was closed in 1985 and then reopened in 1998.

The Remulla family sold the property in 2018.

The family paid approximately P400 million in taxes related to the sale.

The Remulla family has not owned the former Island Cove since 2018.

Governor Remulla emphatically denied any current involvement with the operations on the island, particularly those involving Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO). To support his claims, he has offered a P10 million reward for anyone who can provide evidence of the following:

Any involvement of the Remulla family in the current operations on the island.

Any protection provided by his office, including the Department of Justice (DOJ), to the current operations.

Any signatures from him or any family member authorizing the POGO operations on the island.
Clarifications Provided:

Former Congressman Gilbert Remulla has been a director of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) since 2022.

The permits for the current operations were issued by PAGCOR in 2020, prior to Gilbert
Remulla's appointment.

Gilbert Remulla had no involvement in the issuance of these permits.

Governor Remulla stressed that his family is not involved in any gambling or illegal activities. He also denied any association or protection of foreign nationals, especially from China, involved in such operations.
