Harry Roque Faces Scrutiny In Benguet Property Raid Investigation
File
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) has announced that former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque will be included in their investigation following a raid on a property in Benguet. The raid led to the arrest of two foreign nationals, raising questions about Roque's involvement with the property.

PAOCC Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz shared details about the situation during an interview, explaining the decision to investigate Roque. "Yan po yung development yesterday during the congressional hearing. When we were asked kung anong gagawin naming, of course Former Spokesperson Harry Roque will be part of the investigation kasi nga in-admit niya naman na may interest siya roon sa bahay na yun," Cruz said.

Cruz further clarified the legal implications, stating, "Sa batas natin when you are caught na nakakuha ng criminal sa bahay mo or you are hiding someone, iche-check kung may kinalaman siya o he's really harboring a criminal sa bahay niya." Essentially, the law mandates that any homeowner found to be harboring criminals will be thoroughly investigated to determine their involvement.

Adding to the complexity, Cruz mentioned, "Although yesterday it was stated na mayroong agreement, mayroon silang contract as lessor and lessee so titignan natin kung ano talaga yung participation ni Former Spokesperson Harry Roque." This means that the PAOCC will be looking into the nature of the lease agreement between Roque and the tenants to ascertain his level of involvement.
