Metro Manila and Southern Luzon: Keep Those Umbrellas Handy!

It’s going to be a wet and gloomy day for Metro Manila, Aurora, CALABARZON, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro. The shear line is making its presence felt, bringing cloudy skies, scattered rains, and even isolated thunderstorms. Expect moderate to heavy downpours, so be on the lookout for possible flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying areas.

Davao, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Palawan: More Rain in Store

If you’re in Davao Region or SOCCSKSARGEN, prepare for scattered rains and thunderstorms courtesy of the easterlies. Same goes for Palawan, which is feeling the effects of a low-pressure area’s trough. Just like in Southern Luzon, there’s a risk of flash floods and landslides, so stay alert!

Northern Luzon: Amihan Brings Rains to Cagayan and Cordillera

Over in Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera region, the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) is bringing in cloudy skies with occasional rains. The showers could get intense at times, increasing the risk of flooding and landslides. Meanwhile, Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon will have lighter, isolated rains, but nothing too worrisome.

The Rest of the Country: Expect a Mix of Sun and Showers

For other parts of the Philippines, expect a blend of partly cloudy to cloudy skies with occasional rain showers or thunderstorms. The easterlies are at work again, so while it won’t be as stormy as in other regions, sudden downpours and possible flash floods during thunderstorms remain a possibility.

Coastal Conditions: Rough Waters Up North and East

Planning to set sail? Northern and eastern coastal areas will experience moderate to rough seas (waves reaching up to 4 meters high), so small boats should take caution. The rest of Luzon and Visayas will also see moderate to rough waters, while Mindanao’s seas remain calmer with slight to moderate waves.

Stay Safe and Stay Updated!

With multiple weather systems affecting the country, it’s best to keep your rain gear ready, check for weather advisories, and be cautious of flooding and landslides. Stay safe, everyone!
