Historic Traslacion 2024: Devotees Witness 15-Hour Journey

The Feast of the Black Nazarene unfolded on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, and involved the transfer of the revered image from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church, achieving a remarkable milestone with a record-breaking travel time of 15 hours.

According to reports from the Quiapo Church Command Post, the procession commenced at 5 AM and concluded at 6 PM. The estimated crowd that thronged the streets during the religious spectacle reached 6,532,501.

The Traslacion, known for its emotionally charged atmosphere and intense religious fervor, witnessed devotees from all walks of life, enduring the lengthy journey to partake in this sacred event. Pilgrims clad in maroon and yellow shirts, their faces filled with solemnity and reverence, marched alongside the sacred image, offering prayers and supplications throughout the entire procession.

Despite the extended duration, the Quiapo Church Command Post reported that the peaceful and orderly conduct of the event was maintained throughout.

Various emergency services, volunteers, and security personnel ensured the safety and well-being of the massive gathering.
