The House Committee on Legislative Franchises, led by Parañaque 2nd district Representative Gus S. Tambunting, cited Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy in contempt for his repeated failure to appear before the Committee in connection to the alleged franchise violations of Swara Sug Media Corporation (Sonshine Media Network Inc.).

Despite multiple invitations and hearings, the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ and honorary chairman of SMNI, Pastor Quiboloy, remained absent, prompting the Committee to take action. The decision to hold him in contempt signifies a growing frustration with the lack of cooperation in the ongoing investigation.

In response to Quiboloy's non-compliance, the panel has instructed the office of the House Sergeant-at-Arms to collaborate with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to ensure the presence of Pastor Quiboloy at the House of Representatives.
