House Committee Says Mylah Roque Left The Philippines Amid Contempt Order

Rep. Dan Fernandez, co-chair of the House Quadruple Committee, revealed that Mylah Roque, the wife of former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, is no longer in the country. This comes after the committee issued an arrest order against her for repeatedly failing to attend their hearings.

Fernandez admitted he wasn’t entirely sure where Mrs. Roque had gone, but said, “Two hearings ago, there was information that she left. I’m not really sure, but I read it somewhere—maybe an Asian country, like Singapore or Malaysia. I don't recall anymore.”

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed that Mrs. Roque left the Philippines on September 3, but her exact destination remains unverified. As for Harry Roque, he hasn't left the country according to BI records, especially since he’s under an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO), which restricts his international travel.

Mrs. Roque’s absence from the hearings has sparked speculation and heightened tensions as the House panel continues its investigation. With her overseas departure, the controversy surrounding the contempt citation is now further complicated by international dimensions, leaving many to wonder what the next chapter holds.
