House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez declared that the House of Representatives will prioritize the approval of the P6.352-trillion 2025 national budget in the upcoming session of Congress. This comes on the heels of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s recent approval of the P6.325-trillion budget proposal for next year.

In a statement, Speaker Romualdez emphasized the House's commitment to passing the General Appropriations Bill (GAB) swiftly, aiming to conclude before the end of September 2024. The House plans to transmit the GAB to the Senate for further deliberation.

Romualdez underscored key priorities for budget allocation, including education, agriculture, armed forces modernization, infrastructure, and President Marcos's legacy projects. He highlighted the importance of supporting sectors crucial for economic growth and ensuring accessibility to essential services across the nation.

The 19th Congress's next session will commence on July 22, featuring President Marcos's third State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the historic Batasang Pambansa complex in Quezon City, built during the administration of his father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
