In a recent update, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed that Sheila Guo, sister of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo, and Cassandra Li Ong, who is being linked to a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator in Porac, Pampanga, are currently under the custody of Indonesian authorities. This development sheds light on the ongoing investigations into the connections between the Bamban and Porac POGOs.

According to Remulla, there is now a "definite connection" between Cassandra Li Ong and Alice Guo, a link that further solidifies the ties between the Bamban and Porac POGOs. The revelations suggest that these operations are more closely related than initially thought.

When asked about the possibility of canceling the passports of Guo and her companions, Remulla explained why such a move wasn't taken lightly. "We cannot cancel because there’s no summary cancellation of passports," he said. "A passport is a document that grants rights, so we can't just revoke it without due process."

He further elaborated on the consequences of immediate passport cancellation. "It was not advisable to take such action summarily. If their passports are canceled right away, how can we ensure they return to the country for further investigation or legal proceedings?"

For now, the focus remains on ensuring that justice is served while maintaining the legal rights of those involved. The connection between the individuals and the POGO operations continues to be a critical point of inquiry as the investigation unfolds.
