Larry Gadon Against VP Sara Duterte: 'I Regret Supporting the Dutertes'

In a dramatic twist, former lawyer and anti-poverty czar Larry Gadon has filed a complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, urging the Supreme Court to disbar her.

A Fiery Allegation

Gadon accused Duterte of a kill plot against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and directed sharp words at her alleged use of expletives against the President and his family. “I regret supporting the Dutertes,” Gadon declared, expressing his disillusionment with the political family.

A Bold Threat

Unwavering in his stance, Gadon delivered an ultimatum to the Supreme Court:
“If they do not disbar Sara, I will file an impeachment case against all the justices.”

Gadon’s strong words, including “Tingnan ko ang tigas ng Supreme Court ngayon” (Let’s see how firm the Supreme Court is now), indicate he is ready to escalate the issue if his petition is ignored.

A Complex History

This isn’t Gadon’s first high-profile legal controversy. In June 2023, he was unanimously disbarred by the Supreme Court for “misogynistic, sexist, abusive, and repeated intemperate language” against journalist Raissa Robles. Yet, despite his disbarment, Gadon continues to be a prominent voice in political controversies as the Presidential Anti-Poverty Commission's czar.

What's Next?

The Supreme Court has yet to respond to Gadon’s letter-complaint, and Duterte’s camp has not issued a statement on the matter. However, the escalating tension between these prominent figures suggests this legal and political drama is far from over.
