In a resolute stand against calls for the separation of Mindanao from the rest of the Philippines, the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) has voiced its strong support for a united and undivided nation. Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, the current president of LCP, emphasized the significance of solidarity in achieving continued peace, progress, and prosperity.

Rama expressed the LCP's alignment with the Department of the Interior and Local Government's appeal for national unity. In an official statement, he stated, "We cannot overemphasize the importance of working together, of moving as one, propelled by our genuine concern for the plight of our fellow Filipinos. Now, more than ever, we should be guided by compassion and sensitivity to attain progress together."

Acknowledging the diversity of views on development, Rama underscored that differing perspectives should not undermine the collective efforts to prioritize decency, respect, and care for one another. He affirmed the LCP's support for duly constituted authority and unwavering commitment to upholding the Constitution.

Rama emphasized the strength of the Filipino nation, stating, "Our strength as a nation lies in our ability to rise above partnership and self-interests. Our nemesis is a divided nation. We are stronger when we are united through God’s blessings."
