In a strong statement on August 20, 2024, the Liberal Party (LP) condemned ongoing attempts to revive e-sabong operations in the Philippines. The party expressed deep concern over the fact that some politicians are still pushing for its return, despite clear evidence of the harm e-sabong has caused to the economy and the lives of many Filipinos.

"The government should not rely on quick and easy solutions to address revenue shortfalls," the LP stated. Instead, they urged the administration to focus on sustainable and ethical methods of generating income that do not compromise the moral fabric of society. The party emphasized the importance of tackling corruption within institutions to ensure that public funds are used efficiently and effectively.

"By curbing corruption, we can make sure there are enough resources to fund essential social services without resorting to harmful activities like e-sabong," the LP added.

The party also warned that banning POGOs (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators) would be pointless if similar operations, like e-sabong, are allowed to return in another form.

"The government should offer real solutions to the country's problems instead of proposals that create more issues than they solve," .
