Low Pressure Area Near Itbayat And Southwest Monsoon Affect Luzon: What To Expect

At 3:00 PM today, weather experts reported a Low Pressure Area (LPA) located around 335 km north of Itbayat, Batanes. This LPA, along with the Southwest Monsoon, is bringing changes in weather patterns, particularly across Luzon.

In the Ilocos Region, Benguet, and Zambales, you can expect cloudy skies paired with scattered rains and thunderstorms. The Southwest Monsoon is the culprit here, and it might bring moderate to heavy rains, which could lead to flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and areas including the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, Tarlac, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro are looking at partly cloudy to cloudy skies. These regions might experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, again due to the Southwest Monsoon. Keep in mind that severe thunderstorms could also cause flash floods or landslides.

For the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are in the forecast, driven by localized thunderstorms. Like other areas, there's a risk of flash floods or landslides if the thunderstorms become severe.
