Arnel Ty, president of REGASCO and founder of the LPG Marketers' Association (LPGMA) Party-list, recently sat down with Police Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), to discuss ramping up efforts against illegal activities in the LPG industry. Their meeting also covered the implementation of the "LPG Industry Regulation Act" or Republic Act 11592.

Ty expressed his sincere gratitude to Torre for committing to support LPGMA's advocacy for a safer and more regulated LPG industry. He emphasized that Torre's cooperation is key to ensuring the strict enforcement of the LPG Law across the country.

"Police Brig. Gen. Torre plays a crucial role in overseeing and enforcing the regulations outlined in the LPG Law. We trust his abilities, and his dedication to maintaining safety and order in the LPG industry is a significant benefit to the public," said Ty.

Ty also reiterated LPGMA and REGASCO's commitment to collaborate closely with CIDG and other government agencies. "We have no other goal but to improve service, ensure legal business practices within the LPG sector, and make certain that the LPG available in the market is both safe and of high quality," he added.

Republic Act 11592, which was enacted on October 14, 2021, aims to set best practices in the LPG industry, provide more opportunities for consumers to swap out old tanks, and create a fair playing field for businesses. To prevent LPG-related accidents, the law sets comprehensive regulations on proper refilling and distribution. Additionally, it calls for the removal of all generic, unbranded, rusty, and unsafe LPG tanks from circulation.

With CIDG's support, the LPGMA is optimistic about reinforcing safety measures and pushing the industry towards full compliance with the law, ensuring that consumers can use LPG without any worry.
