LRT-1 Operations To Take A Break On 3 Weekends - Here's What You Need To Know

Heads up, commuters! The LRT-1 is gearing up for something big, and it’s going to mean a few temporary changes to your weekend plans. To fast-track the much-anticipated opening of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 in the last quarter of 2024, the LRT-1 will be pausing its operations on three upcoming weekends.

Here are the dates you’ll need to mark in your calendar:
- August 17-18
- August 24-25
- August 31-September 1

During these weekends, there will be no commercial train service running from Fernando Poe Jr. Station all the way to Baclaran Station. Yep, that means you’ll need to find another way to get around during these dates.

But don’t worry—it’s all for a good cause! The temporary closures are all part of the bigger picture: making sure that the new LRT-1 extension is ready to roll out smoothly later this year. Once it’s up and running, you’ll be able to enjoy a more convenient commute, especially if you’re heading to or from Cavite.

In the meantime, make sure to plan your travels ahead and explore alternative transportation options. Whether it’s buses, jeepneys, or ride-sharing services, there are plenty of ways to get around during the suspension.
