Magnitude 4.9 Earthquake Strikes Near Tingloy, Batangas

On January 20, 2024, a tectonic earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 occurred at a depth of 2 km, located 11 km North 41° West of Tingloy, Batangas (13.74°N, 120.80°E).
The quake reported intensities, with Balayan, Bauan, City of Calaca, Calatagan, Lemery, Mabini, San Luis, San Pascual, Taal, and Tingloy in Batangas experiencing Intensity IV.
The instrumental intensities reached Level V in Lemery and San Luis.
Expecting damage is reported, but no aftershocks are anticipated.
