President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has endorsed Hilario Bringas Paredes to lead the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) as its new chairperson. This endorsement comes as Paredes is set to succeed Thompson C. Lantion in the pivotal role.

The BCDA, known for its mission of converting former military bases and other properties into thriving economic hubs, plays a significant role in national development. By nominating Paredes, President Marcos signals his continued commitment to urban growth, infrastructure development, and strategic land use in areas like Clark and Subic Bay.

In a letter directed to the BCDA’s Board of Directors, Marcos expressed his desire for Paredes to be elected as chairperson. This endorsement from the President himself is a strong vote of confidence for Paredes, who now has the opportunity to bring his expertise and vision to the table as BCDA charts its course forward.

With Paredes at the helm, many are eager to see how his leadership will shape the BCDA’s initiatives to enhance economic zones and support development in surrounding communities.
