Marcos Dismisses Allegations As 'Professional Lies'

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. shrugged off accusations leveled against him by former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent Jonathan Morales, equating Morales to a jukebox willing to sing any tune for a price.

Dismissing Morales' claims as lacking credibility, President Marcos asserted that he would not dignify falsehoods with attention.

Speaking during a government assistance distribution event for El Niño victims in General Santos City, President Marcos likened Morales to a "professional liar," emphasizing his skepticism towards individuals with questionable records. Highlighting Morales' purported history of court cases, false testimonies, and complaints for falsely incriminating innocent individuals, President Marcos further discredited Morales' credibility.

The Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, amidst hearings on the matter, faced criticism for failing to substantiate allegations against President Marcos and actress Maricel Soriano, prompting senators to condemn Morales' testimony.

Legislators condemned Morales for what they deemed as tainted testimony, following the committee's findings that absolved President Marcos of involvement in illegal drug activities.
