Bamban Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, along with two other officials, has been slapped with a preventive suspension order by the Ombudsman. This move comes in the wake of mounting allegations and controversies surrounding their purported involvement with Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

Senator Risa Hontiveros, in a social media post, expressed her support for the suspension, stating that she had been advocating for Guo's suspension since their initial visit to the raided POGO establishment in Bamban, Tarlac. Hontiveros further disclosed that there were reports of Guo attempting to obstruct the ongoing investigation following the POGO raid.

Guo, however, vehemently denied any wrongdoing in a statement released to the public. She expressed her commitment to adhere to due process while vowing to fight the allegations against her. Guo also thanked her constituents for their unwavering support and assured them of her dedication to serving the community.

The suspension order adds another layer to the controversy surrounding Mayor Guo and her alleged connections with POGOs, which have been accused of involvement in various illegal activities, including hacking, surveillance, scams, crimes, and human trafficking.
