Dapitan City Mayor Bullet Jalosjos addressed the swirling rumors linking him to actor Dominic Roque following Roque's highly publicized breakup with actress Bea Alonzo. The mayor took the opportunity to set the record straight in an online talk show and clarify the speculations surrounding a condominium allegedly owned by him and being connected to Roque.

"Clarify ko lang, actually ‘yung condo totoong akin talaga ‘yon. I've had it for quite some time, congressman palang ako, ginawa ko siyang Airbnb. Syempre, as a friend, barkada, si Dom asked me if I want to have it rented. Eh hindi ko naman ginagamit kasi I stay in Dapitan City now, and I live in Alabang. Syempre, ipapa-rent natin sa barkada natin for a good price," Mayor Jalosjos explained.

Expressing his amusement at how the issue escalated, the mayor emphasized, "Natawa na nga lang ako bakit tumalon ‘yung issue from business to binahay na."

He went on to criticize those spreading the false information, especially self-proclaimed seasoned journalists. "Sana naman itong mga nagkakalat, claiming they are mga batikang journalist, sana naman ingat ingat rin. They have a responsibility to the people dapat fact-finding. Hindi ‘yung nalaman nila nasa pangalan ko ‘yung condo sugar daddy na ako bigla. Ang problema doon sinakyan, ginagaslight nila ‘yung issue," Mayor Jalosjos lamented.

Expressing sympathy for Dominic Roque, Mayor Jalosjos highlighted the negative impact of baseless rumors on individuals. "Naawa rin kami kay Dom. Affected na nga ‘yung tao sa breakup ililink pa kami sa kaniya. Kami pinagtatawanan lang talaga namin pero at some point kailangan talagang tumigil, and I think these people have to be reprimanded. Kailangan may consequences, may batas tayo," he concluded.
