In an emotional and heartfelt interview on Toni Talks, Mikee Morada shared a deeply personal journey with his wife, Alex Gonzaga, as they faced their third miscarriage. Speaking with Alex’s sister, Toni Gonzaga, Mikee revealed the rollercoaster of emotions they endured during this challenging time.

Mikee admitted they were caught by surprise when Alex found out she was pregnant for the third time. "To be honest, kami ni Catherine (Alex), noong nalaman namin na pregnant siya, hindi namin talaga akalain. Wala kaming plano," he said. Despite considering IVF as part of their long-term plans, they decided to embrace the natural pregnancy with cautious optimism.

Initially, everything seemed promising. "Nung nalaman namin na pregnant kami for the third time, nagpa-check up kami kaagad sa OB, and okay naman. Tapos nag-decide kami na mag-iingat talaga siya," Mikee shared. But by the third week, their doctor delivered heartbreaking news—a blighted ovum.

Still, they held on to hope. Encouraged to get a second opinion, the couple went in for another ultrasound. "The week after, pagpunta namin sa ultrasound... mayroong baby sa loob. Naiyak ako noong narinig ko ang heartbeat. First time ko makarinig ng heartbeat," Mikee recounted, his voice filled with both joy and pain.

Unfortunately, their joy was short-lived. The baby's heartbeat was weak, and despite their best efforts to save the pregnancy, the heartbreaking news came just days before Christmas. "Pagdating namin sa ultrasound noong December 28... nakita na namin agad 'yung embryo, pero wala na siyang heartbeat," he said.

Mikee shared how Alex blamed herself, an emotional struggle he supported her through. "Kasi minsan, sinisisi niya ang sarili niya... bago siya uminom ng gamot para mag-bleed, tinatanong niya pa kung may chance pa. Sabi ko, 'Wala na, eh.' Naawa ako sa kanya," he admitted.

One particularly difficult moment for Alex came in the hospital. "Nandun siya sa delivery room... Paglingon niya, 'yung katabi niya mommy, tapos kalalabas lang ng baby. Nakabalot. Yun pala, umiiyak siya kasi ang katabi niya may baby, sa kanya aalisin," Mikee recounted, his voice heavy with emotion.

Despite the pain, Mikee had a heartfelt message for Alex: "Gusto ko malaman niya na super thankful ako for trying your best to take care of yourself while carrying our third baby. Hindi man tayo pinalad ngayon, lumalim ang ating relationship. I love you. I will always be here for you."

Their story is one of resilience, love, and finding strength in each other, even in the face of heartbreak.
