The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has officially hit its ambitious P800-million gross sales target, marking a triumphant Golden Edition. This milestone was confirmed by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and it’s a cause for celebration for film enthusiasts and industry players alike.

MMDA Chair and MMFF overall Chairman Atty. Romando Don Artes couldn’t contain his excitement as he shared how the 50th edition of MMFF raised the bar in more ways than one. “#MMFF50 truly leveled up,” Artes said, highlighting improvements across the board—from the quality of film entries to the inclusivity of events like the revival of the Student Short Film Festival in collaboration with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

"We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this Golden Edition a smashing success," Artes beamed. "It’s a collective win for all our stakeholders and the viewing public.”

In alphabetical order, the top-grossing entries that contributed to this financial feat include And The Breadwinner Is, Green Bones, and The Kingdom. These films not only captivated audiences but also played a pivotal role in hitting that golden financial target.

Artes also emphasized the importance of unity in the industry, stating, “The key to our success lies in collaboration. We need to support each other instead of tearing each other down with baseless claims and sweeping judgments.”

Reflecting on the festival's overall impact, Artes noted, “This year’s MMFF wasn’t just about the box office numbers. We aimed to redefine success by setting new standards in film quality and audience engagement. We’re proud of the strides we’ve made and the lessons we’ve learned along the way.”
