MTRCB Upholds Suspension Of SMNI Programs Amid 'Death Threats' And 'Profane Language' Complaints

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has rejected the Motions for Reconsideration filed by Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) regarding the suspension of its two programs, "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa" and "Laban Kasama ang Bayan."
This decision follows complaints received by the MTRCB regarding the use of "death threats" and "profane language" in an episode of "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa" on October 10, 2023.
In a statement, MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto emphasized, "Grounded in the principles of due process and fairness, our resolve to enforce accountability in media content regulation is resolute."
Consequently, the MTRCB has extended the suspension of the two programs for up to 28 days in line with its commitment to maintaining standards in media content.
