The National Capital Region Wage Board has approved a PHP35 salary increase for minimum wage earners in Metro Manila, announced by the Department of Labor and Employment on Monday, July 1, 2024. This decision raises the minimum wage in the region from PHP610 to PHP645.

The adjustment, set to take effect 15 days after its publication, aims to alleviate the economic pressures faced by workers in one of the country's most expensive cities.

The wage hike is expected to benefit thousands of workers across Metro Manila, providing them with a more sustainable standard of living in the face of economic challenges.
