Rubio opened up about his struggle with mental health, acknowledging the darkness he experienced and the difficult decision to bring his illustrious career to a close. He expressed a desire to share his full experience in the future to support others going through similar situations but emphasized the need for privacy at this moment as he continues to focus on his mental well-being.

He expressed gratitude for the memories and relationships he built along the way.

Rubio reserved a special mention for the Cleveland Cavaliers, his last team, acknowledging the challenges of his final year but commending the organization, particularly Koby Altman and JB Bickerstaff, for their respect and understanding of his situation.
