The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) disclosed that as of April 8, 2024, nine overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) suffered minor to light injuries due to the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Taiwan on April 3.

All injured OFWs are receiving medical care in their respective accommodations, closely monitored by the DMW's Migrant Workers Office in Taipei (MWO-Taipei).

DMW, in collaboration with the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), is actively assisting OFWs in Taiwan.

Additionally, a six-member team is being deployed to provide psycho-social support to approximately 5,000 OFWs in Hualien County and nearby areas, which were close to the earthquake's epicenter.
